Why Is Amber Heard Smirking In Court? Face Shows Emotions As Trial Is About To Wrap Up

Amber Heard is seen smirking, rolling her eyes, and nibbling on cookies as she’s forced to listen to herself admitting on tape that she hit Johnny Depp in the face in a resurfaced video of the court.

During their nasty 2016 divorce, the 33-year-old actress was confronted with the shocking recording when she sat down for a deposition.

According to DailyMail. the video captures the then-husband and wife describing a violent event in which Depp alleges he was punched in the jaw by a restroom door.

Why Is Amber Heard Smirking In Court?

Amber Heard grins, rolls her eyes, and eats cookies as she listens to herself acknowledge on video that she ‘clocked’ Johnny Depp in the face.

On Tuesday, jurors in the former couple’s multimillion-dollar defamation trial in Fairfax, Virginia, saw a clip from Ms. Heard’s 13 August 2016 deposition, in which she is seen listening to an audio discussion between herself and Mr. Depp.

The couple is heard discussing an apparent altercation, with Mr. Depp accusing his wife of striking him repeatedly. Ms. Heard denies punching Mr. Depp, claiming that he shoved a bathroom door into her toes, prompting her to push the door back, striking him in the head. She apologizes to her husband several times.

Ms. Heard eats a snack, chews, looks around the room, and shakes her head while listening to the recording during her deposition.

Amber Heard’s Dresses To Change Perception

Rarely has it been more clear that the courtroom is a theater and a trial the ultimate drama, complete with heightened emotions, props, and, of course, costumes, as Heard took the stand for the final time this week in a pinstriped three-piece suit and Depp watched her in an almost-matching three-piece dark suit of his own as the trail winds to its expected end on May 27.

It’s as if, in a world saturated with American Crime Story and Inventing Anna, the source material for a future episode is being made in real-time for all to witness.

Depp and Heard looked the part from the start, not as ostentatious people-page magnets, but as polite members of society aware of the gravity of the situation, the court’s traditions, and the weight of the truth.

Both appeared to be sober, at least based on their attire. That is hardly a coincidence in a case centered on drug and alcohol misuse and related extreme behavior, including physical violence.

Is Amber Heard Irish?

Amber Heard isn’t Irish because she doesn’t have any Irish ancestors, but she selected an Irish name for her daughter.

The 35-year-old also announced that she has given her daughter the name Oonagh, which is derived from the Irish word for lamb and means pure or holy. Paige, her middle name, looks to be a nod to her late mother Paige Heard, who died in May 2020.

The actress shared the good news on social media, telling followers that she gave birth to a baby girl by surrogate in April and sharing the first photo of her daughter.

Amber can be seen cuddling the sleeping newborn to her bosom and appearing perfectly at ease in the lovely photo.
