Known chef and author Jock Zonfrillo, a judge on MasterChef Australia, killed away at the age of 46. He passed away on Sunday in Melbourne, according to his family, who announced his passing on Monday.
He is survived by his family and friends. His death has not been given a cause, and the Victoria Police spokeswoman said they are not investigating it further. The coroner will receive a report.
On Monday night, the new season of MasterChef Australia was supposed to launch, but Network 10 said it wouldn’t air this week.
In a statement, the production company Endemol Shine Australia and Network 10 expressed their profound shock and sorrow at Zonfrillo’s untimely passing.
Zonfrillo was a vital member of the team, according to Peter Newman, CEO of Endemol Shine Australia, and his enthusiasm for the program and food was contagious.
He was also a strong supporter of the competitors and always wanted what was best for them. The MasterChef team will miss him dearly, and during this trying time, their thoughts are with his family.
Why does Jock wear beads in his hand?
In the video, which you can watch above, Jock explains that the objects are “worry beads.” I have several various kinds of worry beads, and when I’m feeling stressed or nervous, I simply flick through them in that way. The more worried and anxious you become, the faster you do it.
Did Jock give his beads to Brent?
It really helped me when he said that because if he gets it, then we all could too; it doesn’t discriminate, says Brent. When Jock gave Brent his famous concern beads, it had a profound effect on him, and Brent found the act cathartic.
