Dickinson left the BBC in 2005, and he has been hosting Dickinson’s Real Deal on ITV since 2006.
People from the public bring antiques and collectibles to the show to either sell to a dealer or take to an auction.
He presented David Dickinson’s Name Your Price for ITV in 2017 and had his own daytime chat show series, The David Dickinson Show, beginning in April 2003.
Why do they call David Dickinson the Duke?
The Duke is Dickinson’s nickname, which alludes to his attire. He has been using the same tailor for forty years; Chris Nicolaou, who was a guest on Dickinson’s This Is Your Life program when Michael Aspel surprised him at an auction house in Folkestone in November 2002, was Chris Nicolaou.
Why is Dickinson So Brown?
The spectators were instantly drawn in by his dark complexion (commonly thought to be a false tan, but he claims it is due to his Armenian origin) and several catchphrases.
Dickinson first gained popularity as a respected authority on antiques on This Morning and BBC Two’s The Antiques Show.
