Why did Trevor Nelson get an MBE?
He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2002 for his contribution to the Millennium Volunteers program. Trevor Nelson, a DJ for Radio 1, was awarded an MBE today for his community contribution.
Nelson was scheduled to receive the honor from the Queen during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace. The TV host and DJ represent Millennium Volunteers, a government program that encourages individuals to volunteer in their neighborhoods. “I am thrilled and honored to get this award,” he remarked. Every Millennium Volunteer out there who is working to improve their town has my utmost respect.
Any young person should consider becoming an MV since it helps them realize their personal goals in addition to helping others. Anyone between the ages of 16 and 24 may participate in the program and Volunteer.
