On November 27, 1973, Samantha Harris Shapiro was born in the United States. She is a successful television host, model, actress, and entertainment reporter.
She rose to fame after co-hosting the second through ninth seasons of the show Dancing with the Stars alongside Tom Bergeron.
Other than Dancing with the Stars, Harris has hosted a number of other shows, including Fox’s The Next Joe Millionaire, and AMC Access, and even had an appearance as a guest co-host on The View. She also served as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’s host for one week in May 2009.
Harris made her Broadway debut in Chicago as Roxie Hart for six weeks in 2009 at the Ambassador Theatre in New York City.
After her time on Broadway, she played the same role in the national tour’s performance at the Peace Center in Greenville, South Carolina.
As a result of her successes as a musician and television personality, Harris has won a number of awards. She was selected as the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula brand spokesperson in November 2007, and she was featured in extensive print and media promotion.
Additionally, she won back-to-back Crown Awards for “Best Hairstyle on Television” in 2007 and 2008 from Super-Hair.Net voters.
Why did Samantha Harris leave Dancing with the Stars?
Harris gave birth to the couple’s first child in 2007, therefore she was unable to take part in the Season Five premiere of Dancing with the Stars. On October 15, 2007, she returned. Drew Lachey, the Season Two winner, stepped in for Harris for the first three weeks of competition.
