Why Did Lou Dobbs Leave Fox News Or Was He Fired? Netizens Believe His Exit Is Related To The Lawsuit

Lou Dobbs was fired from Fox Business after a decade, following a defamation lawsuit that was filed against Fox News.

Louis Dobbs is a former television broadcaster, political pundit, and author who hosted Lou Dobbs Tonight from 2003 to 2009 and from 2011 to 2021. Since 2021, he has been hosting The Great America Show.

On Fox Business, Dobbs was the most popular host. He frequently doubled the ratings of his lead-in. Despite Fox’s denials, the cancellation of Dobbs looks to be no coincidence.

It happened just 24 hours after voting technology company Smartmatic mentioned Dobbs and Fox in a $2.7 billion slander lawsuit.

Why Did Lou Dubbs Leave Fox News Or Was He Fired?

Lou Dobbs, one of former President Donald J. Trump’s most ardent media supporters, lost his platform when Fox Business canceled his weekday television show.

Therefore, the news had become a clearinghouse for baseless theories of electoral fraud in the weeks after Mr. Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election.

Mr. Dobbs’ ten-year run on the network came to an end with minimal fanfare — a guest host took up his Friday spot — just a day after the election technology firm Smartmatic sued Rupert Murdoch’s Fox Corporation and Fox News for slander.

Dobbs worked for federal anti-poverty initiatives in Boston and Washington, D.C. after college, before returning to Idaho.

He temporarily attended the University of Idaho College of Law in Moscow before working for Union Bank of California in Los Angeles as a cash-management specialist.

In 1969, he married his high school girlfriend, and their first son was born in 1970. Dobbs relocated to Yuma, Arizona, and worked for KBLU as a police and fire reporter.

He was a television anchor and reporter in Phoenix by the mid-1970s, and he eventually joined Seattle’s KING-TV. A recruiter for Ted Turner, who was creating CNN at the time, contacted him in 1979.

Lou Dobbs’ show was canceled by Fox News just one day after a voting-tech business filed a $2.7 billion lawsuit alleging that it was involved in a conspiracy to spread misinformation about its role in election fraud.

Mr. Dobbs is listed as an individual defendant, along with two other Fox hosts, Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro, in the lawsuit, which seeks at least $2.7 billion in damages.

His show, Smartmatic said, had become so rife with lies about Mr. Trump’s defeat by late last year that Fox Business had to air a fact-checking piece disputing some of his own anchor’s claims.

What Happened To Lou Dubbs Show- Where Is He Now?

Lou Dobbs was an early proponent of Birtherism, a conspiracy theory that claimed former US President Barack Obama was not a natural-born citizen of the United States.

He is well-known for his anti-immigration sentiments and hostility to NAFTA and other trade agreements. He saturated his show with pro-Trump news since he is a strong Trump fan.

He was one of three Fox Corporation show hosts mentioned in a $2.7 billion defamation action filed by Smartmatic in connection with fake conspiracy theories utilized in attempts to sway the 2020 presidential election in the United States.
