My Starters not playing in Madden 24 is due to the Progressive Fatigue feature. When it is turned on, players with low energy are substituted automatically.
The idea behind the feature is to provide a life-like feel to the game where players are exhausted after playing back-to-back matches and need to rest.
However, many users have complained that the fresh players with full stamina bars are taken out of the game, especially from week 10 onwards.
The starters are involved in three or four snaps and are taken out afterward. They are not put in the game from that point onwards, even if they are with full stamina.
The problem has existed since Madden 22. The best you can do from your end to tackle it is to turn off the Progressive Fatigue option:
- Head to the main menu and choose Settings.
- Pick Game Options.
- Navigate to Fatigue. It should be under the Player Sliders menu.
- Now, drag the slider to zero, and it will disable the Progressive Fatigue.
Madden 24 Franchise Mode Starters
Madden 24 Franchise mode starters can be selected by visiting the depth chart and moving the players up in the list you want to start.
Generally, users pick players with greater skill sets and overall ratings over their counterparts. So, typically, the starting offense and defense lineup comprises the highest-rated players from your squad.
Sometimes, you may want to try speedy players regardless of their overall ratings. In such a scenario, you must correct your depth chart and bring that player to the available slot on the top.
You can access and change the order of the roster depth chart by following these steps:
- Choose the NFL logo from the main menu page to open the Creation Center.
- Choose Edit Rosters.
- Select Order Depth Chart.
- Use the Triangle button on your joystick to ‘Auto-Reorder.’
- Or, press X to select and move the players manually to your liking.
- Press Circle and choose Save Changes.
Madden 24 Bench Player Rules
Madden 24 Bench player rules state that a player prioritized below the starters is brought onto the field when the primary player’s stamina bar depletes.
For example, when you play two Wide Receivers, the WR3 and WR4 are your bench athletes. A significant decrease in stamina following the progressive fatigue set at a specific limit will make them out of the game.
In that case, the WR3 is brought into the play. The exact approach applies to other positions as well.
And once the starter regains his energy to the required level, he substitutes the WR3. If you set replacement at 50% and re-entry at 65%, the player will exit when the energy is half and re-enter when it reaches the necessary mark.
The set of rules that apply to bench players are:
- The fatigue slider setting for exit and re-entry determines the entry and exit of benched athletes.
- Certain player tags can help benched players get priority over old players.
- You can manually bring on a player from the bench when there is no active play.
- Substituting players with out-of-position players is not allowed.
- A Running Back must come on for a Running Back. A Quarterback cannot be swapped for a Wide receiver and vice versa.
- You cannot substitute an offensive player in a defensive role and likewise.
Player Tags That Affect The Depth Chart
The Player Tags are essential tools that increase a player’s value in the draft. Few player tags help the footballers increase their depth chart position:
- Day One Starter: Starts a benched player over a higher overall experienced player
- Future Starter: Prioritized above veteran players in the depth chart
- QB of the Future: Day One Starter tag for QB
