A pensioner Penelope Jackson, accused of murdering her husband, told police she should have stabbed him more as she was arrested. Keep scrolling to know details about this case.
She acknowledges manslaughter but denies murder, telling the court on Tuesday that during their 24-year marriage, she walked on eggshells and lived with a knot in her gut.
Penelope told the jury at Bristol Crown Court that she didn’t know if she was waking up to good David or terrible David.
The court was given bodycam footage of the arrest as well as hearing Jackson’s own 999 calls.
She claims her spouse was authoritarian and coercive, as well as physically aggressive.

According to the court, the damaged glass incident occurred the day after Mrs Jackson underwent surgery to replace his pacemaker battery.
Mrs Jackson claimed she had shut him in the conservatory to calm down after a dispute over how to use the remote control.
She told police about the incident in a 999 call: “I’ve got bruises all over my arms. David snatched me from behind and threatened me. I’m not going to say anything else. He isn’t like that. He’s enraged.”
Mrs Jackson was unhappy when police arrived at her home, according to the jurors.
