Who Was Linda Kasabian? Manson Family Member Dead At 73

Linda Kasabian, a notorious “Manson Family” criminal gang member who belonged to Charles Manson, died at the age of 73.

On January 21, Kasabian passed away unexpectedly in a hospital in Tacoma, Washington. Her precise cause of death has not been made public, despite the fact that it has been said that her bones were later cremated.

Kasabian changed her last name to “Chiochios” in later life to conceal her identity once she abandoned her ties to the cult, according to a death certificate that TMZ was able to get.

After taking part in the “two nights of mayhem” in which the gang killed seven people in Los Angeles, California, in August 1969, Kasabian agreed to testify as a key prosecution witness at Manson’s trial in 1970-1971 in exchange for immunity.

Who Was Linda Kasabian?

Linda Darlene Drouin was born in Biddeford, Maine, on June 21, 1949, and spent her childhood in Milford, New Hampshire. Her father, Rosaire Drouin, was a construction worker with French Canadian descent, and her mother, Joyce Taylor, was a stay-at-home mother.

They were from working-class households and had few resources. Due to their frequent conflicts, Linda’s father left the family when she was still a little child. Soon after, her father moved to Miami, Florida, and her parents both remarried.

The mother of Linda, the oldest of her siblings, later admitted that since she had so many other children and stepchildren to care for, she was unable to give her adolescent daughter the proper attention.

As Joyce said: “I was unable to spend the time to listen to her problems. The majority of Linda’s problems are my fault.” Linda, better known as Kasabian, was a popular and intelligent student who was also a romantic with starry eyes. She was kind and reserved, but she needed to mature right away.

She dropped out of high school and moved out at age 16 due to conflicts with her stepfather, Jake Byrd, whom she claimed mistreated both her and her mother. Kasabian traveled toward the west coast while “searching for God.” At 16, she married Robert Peasley, but the wedding was short-lived.
