A mum was walking her pet dog when she was trampled to death by a herd of charging cows.
In Grindle, Lancashire, a field containing 25 Limousin cows, plus calves and bulls, was where Kathy McKellar, 74, was discovered dead.
On September 25 of last year, John Towler, the owner of the cottage, discovered her cockapoo Archie, who had found his way back to the property.
He walked outside to hunt for Kathy but couldn’t find her so he dialed 999.
Mr. Towler discovered her body in one of his fields the following morning while checking on his animals.
A post-mortem CT scan showed that Kathy died from significant chest injuries after she was declared dead at the scene.
