What Is Fort Boyard? Details To Know About The Game Show
Fort Boyard is a French game show produced by Jacques Antoine that premiered on July 7, 1990 (originally titled Les Clés de Fort Boyard, but reduced to Fort Boyard from the second series in 1991). Since 1990, foreign versions of the show have been broadcast worldwide, with varying degrees of popularity.
Fort Boyard issued a tragic announcement on Monday, April 4. The cult public service show’s production firm, Adventure Line Productions, mourned the loss of “a key member” on their Twitter account, active since 1990.
The format of Fort Boyard varies in every country, but the foundations remain the same. A group of buddies enters the Fort intending to take home the gold, and to accomplish so; the contestants must complete a series of challenges devised by Boyard himself.
The ringing of the Fort’s gong by the French figure ‘La Boule’ is the first action in the game. When the gong strikes, the game clock starts counting down. The game lasted 40 minutes in the UK version and 60 to 120 minutes in the French version, depending on the year.
