Didem Şahin was a renowned German producer and director. She gained prominence from Bitter Sweet, Tek basina, and Paper Boat.
Sahin grew up in Germany and attended Marmara University. After that, she moved to England and studied screenplay at Birkbeck University.
Didem then earned a master’s degree in Documentary Film Production and Direction at Brunel University. She even got the British Council Scholarship for her studies.
Sahin debuted in 2007 from Don’t tell my mother I’m going to Beirut. It was nominated for the Best Turkish Documentary Film by SİYAD and a couple of other awards.

Her death news was shared by the IMM Media Relations Coordinator and Press Advisor, Ceren Akdağ. He and Sahin had formerly worked on different projects.
Didem passed away peacefully amid the presence of her family members. Her funeral was held at Florya Basinkoy Mosque and then she was buried in Kucukcekmece Canary Cemetery.
