Who Sings Here Comes Saturday Night For College Football?

Fall Out Boy will sing Here Comes Saturday Night for college football at the B1G Saturday Night before the West Virginia vs. Penn State game.

NBC Sports tweeted a video on 7th May earlier this year through their official Twitter handle. The 30-second video showcased the rock band performing the ‘Here Comes Saturday Night.’

The rock band has been in the music scene since 2001, with a hiatus between 2009 and 2013. The two-time Grammy Award nominees comprise of following members:

  • Patric Stump – Lead vocalist
  • Pete Wentz – Bassist
  • Andy Wentz – Drummer
  • Joe Trohman – Lead guitarist

NBC Sports creative director Tripp Dixon said, “We are excited to have Fall Out Boy Star in our show open to help us capture the passion and pageantry of Bif Ten Football in primetime.”

The four-member musical group was one of the three headlines at the 2023 NFL Draft. The event held at Kansas City had Motley Crue and Thundercat as other leading performers.

College GameDay New Song

College GameDay song will be presented by Darius Rucker, Lainey Wilson, and The Cadillac Three. The news was made public on 29th August.

Following that, Rucker posted a video notifying the fans to watch ESPN at 9 a.m. ET to enjoy the new rendition of ‘Comin’ To Your City.’

The three-time Grammy winner appeared as the celebrity guest picker at the opening ceremony of 2023 college football.

Big & Rich will no longer voice the opening anthem ‘Comin’ To Your City’ for the ESPN College GameDay.

It was a shocker for everyone. The duo posted a video on their Twitter page claiming they exist as the voice of the anthem.

The announcement dates to August 24. They were grateful for the opportunity and were humbled to pass the torch to the new set of singers.

The reason for the departure of Big Kenny and John Rich, the iconic country music duo, has not been revealed.

College Gameday Theme Song History

College GameDay theme song 2023 is Something Real by Post Malone for the 2023 campaign. The announcement was made on the 1st of August.

The single belongs to the artist’s fifth studio album ‘Austin.’ The album was released on 29th July this year.

The show has been running strongly since 1987. The production that started with Lee Corso, Tim Brando, and Beano Cook has come a long way.

The show’s evolution to take the program on location and cover the game has been one of the most crucial aspects.

Likewise, every year, the creative department selects a new song as the anthem for the year. Malone’s ‘Something Real’ is the latest inclusion.

Some other songs that have been featured in the promotional campaign of College GameDay are listed below:

  • Collider by X Ambassadors and Tom Morello
  • Centuries by Fall Out Boy
  • Walk on Water by Thirty Seconds To Mars
  • Believer by Imagine Dragons

Likewise, soundtracks like Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift, DNA and Humble by Kendrick Lamar, Country Nation by Brad Paisley, They Don’t Know, and My Kinda Party by Jason Aldean, and Glory by Jamie N Commons have also been included for specific games and promos.
