Outside of Desperate Housewives, Ricardo Chavira has performed in a number of theater performances. He appeared in Tracers at the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles and was a key player in Living Out, a co-production.
In addition, from July to August 2010, he played Stanley Kowalski in the Guthrie Theater’s production of A Streetcar Named Desire in Minneapolis.
Chavira also dabbled in voice acting, portraying Alejandro Borges in Dead Space: Aftermath and John Carver in the video game Dead Space 3. He has appeared in films such as Days of Wrath (2008), Saving God (2008), and Piranha 3D (2010).

Following Desperate Housewives, Chavira appeared as criminal boss Rafael Serrano in two episodes of the USA Network thriller series Burn Notice in 2013. Later same year, he appeared in the NBC sitcom Welcome to the Family, which was canceled after only three episodes.
Chavira appeared as a guest star in an episode of Castle titled “At Close Range” in 2015, and she reconnected with Eva Longoria in her short-lived sitcom Telenovela in 2016.
