The suspect has been charged with Pauline Hanna’s murder, 16 months after her death. Police verified that an arrest had been made in connection with the death that happened on April 5, last year.
The defendant is scheduled to appear in Auckland District Court very soon. Before this suspect, the case was unexplained for more than a year. More information is set to appear after the 69-year-old faces court.
According to court documents obtained by Stuff, the murderer is also suspected of possessing methamphetamine and a pipe.

Before authorities arrested the 69-year-old man for the murder of Pauline Hanna, her husband, Philip Polkinghorne, was suspected of her murder.
Philip stated shortly after her death that authorities were treating him as a “person of suspect.” He described his wife as “remarkable” and her death as “insurmountable.”
It has been reported that in the year following Pauline’s death, she hired a private detective before her death. They interviewed many of Philip’s accomplices–including a masseuse and a barber. She doubted that her husband had been in a relationship for quite some time with an Australian escort.
In October, Madison Ashton, a Melbourne native, told Australian reporters that she met Philip in Sydney in 2011. Their professional connection began with Pauline, but it became more personal in 2017.
She stated that she was unaware that Pauline and Philip were still in a relationship at the time of her death.
