According to Robert, she was smacked in the head, and he fled the scene. When questioned at the police station, Robert gave yet another version of events, this time confessing to engaging in a physical altercation with Emily.
He said they got into an altercation in the hotel room that turned physical, with Robert repeatedly kicking Emily in the face and head until she was knocked out.
After that, he loaded Emily into his car and went to a remote spot. Later, he wrapped a rope around her neck and hooked the other end to the car, pulling her to where she was discovered.
Robert fled the scene after beating her with a bar, destroying any evidence that may be used against him. He later drove the cops to where he abandoned the air pump, a bag containing Emily’s clothes, and the rope.
