Vina Nadjibulla is the spouse of Michael Kovrig, who works in international security, peace-building and is a women’s rights practitioner.
Michael Kovrig is a Canadian former diplomat who has worked for the International Crisis Group. Michael conducts research and provides analysis on global security and foreign affairs.
On 10 December 2018 in Beijing, the Chinese authorities detained Michael Kovrig. He was accused of spying in China. He was charged with espionage by the Chinese government.
Michael was captured for more than 2 years, 1019 days to be exact. He was released on 24 September 2021. All the hardworking of Vina finally led to her other half’s being released and reunited.
