Vladimir Putin’s private life is mostly unknown, and the 96-year-old Georgian woman who claims to be his divorced mother is even less well-known. As she introduces herself, Vera Putina claims to be Putin’s birth mother and claims to have abandoned him when he was a little child in Russia with his grandmother.
Putina claims that after finishing the third grade in Georgia, Putin moved to Russia and had to retake a few classes. She claims that she transported Putin to Russia and left him in the care of her mother since her husband did not want Putin to travel with them and she was worried about having to support him.
Putina further asserts that when he was younger, Putin had an odd gait.
As has become standard in recent years, the Kremlin quickly refuted the report, calling Putina’s assertions “crazy story.” This is an interesting development because Putina has been claiming her relationship with Vladimir Putin since 1999, which predates both his presidency and the present conflict in Ukraine.
Although these allegations have never been verified, she began repeating them after seeing Putin on television when he was a KGB operative. Unconfirmed rumors also claim that some journalists who tried to interview the old woman met inexplicable ends in peculiar circumstances.
