On September 14, 2003, she was chatting in an SUV with her boyfriend. The so-called trap home was reportedly guarded by two members of the Southside Compton Crips street gang.
A few seconds later, the criminals opened fire on the SUV, which they thought was defending the home from competitors. Tunde was shot during the encounter, and her companion was unaware of it.
