The 55-year-old graduated from Moscow University with a degree in civil engineering and served as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of natural gas corporation Novatek for more than seven years, amassing a wealth of over £330 million.

However, an old page on Novatek’s website from March 2015 designated Sergey Protosenya as Deputy Chairman following a management board shake-up. He isn’t included on the company’s current board of directors page.

The remains of Sergey Protosenya, his wife Natalia, and their daughter Maria were discovered at their house in the coastal town of Lloret de Mar in Spain’s Catalonia province at approximately 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19.
The couple’s eldest son, who lives in France, raised the alarm after being unable to contact them, according to the report. The website said that the mother and daughter were stabbed to death, and the millionaire hung himself. Protosenya’s wife, Natalya, was 53 years old, and their daughter, Maria, had just turned 18.
According to the Spanish news site Telecino, police are investigating two probable scenarios: Protosenya killed his wife and daughter and then hanged himself, or someone killed the entire family and then faked the crime scene.
