Authorities reported on Friday that a suspect had been charged with the murder of Senzo Meyiwa.

Senzo Meyiwa was a South African professional footballer who captained both the Orlando Pirates of the Premier Soccer League and the South African national team as a goalkeeper.

On October 26, 2014, he was shot and died in a robbery. It was discovered in November 2014 that Meyiwa had allegedly lied about his true age throughout his professional career.
