James was diagnosed with fourth-stage bowel cancer in the year 2016. She only recently celebrated success with her chemotherapy.
In January 2020, she was declared cancer-free but later found the disease had returned. Last November she had surgery on her 17th tumor.
James has been an inspiration to millions of people around the world. She has been spreading awareness for a long time now.
