Robert Lowery from Texas, who was reported missing, has been found, but the news is quite different as his family expected.
Lowery has been missing since August 20, according to a news release from Teton County Wyoming Search and Rescue.
Since then, the inquiry has continued, but new information has led to Tuesday’s search.
Lowery’s case was brought to light by news coverage of Gabby Petitio’s abduction and search, according to officials, and two members of the public contacted local authorities over the weekend. Lowery’s last known whereabouts were revealed by the information.

Robert Lowery: How Is He Connected To Gabbie’s Case?
The recent coverage of Gabby Petito, according to Teton County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Sachse, contributed to the tipsters coming forward with additional information.
More than a month after Houston’s father, Robert “Bob” Lowery, 46, went missing while visiting Wyoming, officials got a report that he was seen on the Black Canyon Trail in Bridger-Teton National Forest, near Grand Teton National Park, on August 20, 2021.
According to Deputy Sachse, they issued a public appeal for information on Bob’s location.
The Teton area was suddenly on the news for days covering the Gabby Petito case, and their phone lines stayed silent.
The two instances are unrelated, according to Deputy Sachse, and the place where Gabby’s body was eventually discovered was on the opposite side of the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
