Her acting career has been active since 1942.

Have you ever wondered how rich Rita Moreno is, as of mid- 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Rita’s net worth is as high as $25 million, with the main source of this amount of money being her successful involvement in the entertainment industry as a professional actress.

Rita Moreno Net Worth $25 Million

Rita Moreno is the daughter of Rosa María, who was a dressmaker, and Francisco José “Paco” Alverío, a farmer. She moved with her mother to New York City when she was just five years old. Her mother remarried to Edward Moreno, so Rita adopted his last name. She began attending dance classes, as she showed interests in music, and soon her professional career began.

When just 11 years old, Rita began doing voice-overs of the American Films into Spanish. Little by little her career began to develop, and two years later she made her Broadway debut in “Skydrift”, as Angelina, which helped her get the attention of Hollywood talent agents. She continued with stage acting, and with the beginning of a new decade, Rita made her screen debut in the film “So Young So Bad” (1950). The same year she also appeared briefly in the films “The Toast of New Orleans”, and “Pagan Love Song”.

Since the start of her career, Rita has now appeared in more than 150 film and TV titles, which represent the main source of her net worth. She has been recognized for her typist roles as Latina, however, she managed to break free from the stereotype, and landed differing roles. In the 1950s she played her first notable role, as Tuptim in Walter Lang`s film “The King And I” (1956). Throughout the 1950s she also appeared in films and TV series such as “The Ring” (1952), “The Vagabond King” (1956), “The Deerslayer” (1957), and many others, all of which increased her net worth, but also boosted her popularity.

She continued successfully through the 1960s, starting with the role of Anita in the film “West Side Story” (1961), and continuing with roles in such films as “The Night Of the Following Day” (1968), and “Popi” (1969), among others, all of which added to her net worth.

The 1970s also helped her career, as she became a member of the cast of children`s TV series “The Electric Company” (1971-1977), and as her focus was centered on that show, she made very few other appearances, some of them include films “Carnal Knowledge” (1971), “The Ritz” (1976), and “The Boss` Son” (1978), increasing further her net worth.

Her next notable role came in 1981 in the film “Four Seasons”, as Claudia Zimmer, and the following year she was selected for the role of Violet Newstead in the TV series “From Nine To Five” (1982-1983). After that she starred in the film “Portrait Of A Showgirl” (1982), with Lesley Ann Warren, and Dianne Kay, and in 1989 she was selected for the role of Kimberly Baskin in the TV series “B.L. Stryker” (1989-1990).

To mention some of Rita`s appearances in the 1990s, her net worth benefited mostly from series and films such as “The Cosby Mysteries” (1994-1995), “Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?” (1994-1999), “Oz” (1997-2003), and “Slums Of Beverly Hills” (1998), among others.

Age didn`t stop her, as she continued to act in the 2000s, appearing in numerous successful films and TV series, including “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (2006-2007), “Cane” (2007), “Happily Divorced” (2011-2013), “Rio 2” (2014), “Jane the Virgin” (2015-2016), and “Remember Me” (2016), which also added to her net worth.

Thanks to her skills, Rita has received numerous prestigious awards, including an Oscar in the category of Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her work on the film “West Side Story”, and for the same film she received a Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress. Furthermore, in 1995 she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her achievements in film, among many other awards.

Speaking about her personal life, Rita Moreno was married to cardiologist Leonard Gordon, who was also her manager, from 1965 to 2010, when he passed away. They had a daughter – Fernanda Luisa Gordon, who is a very successful designer of jewelry. Previously, she dated several actors, including Dennis Hopper, Marlon Brando, and Anthony Quinn. She had also a brief affair with Elvis Presley. Rita currently resides in Berkeley, California.

Quote
1 Once we went to the apartment of some brothers. Obviously, their parents were not at home. One of them was a big flirt, and he had a little bit of peach fuzz over his upper lip, and he was making eyes at me. He said, “Whatever you do, don’t put on perfume, because that really makes me crazy.” Immediately, I went into his mother’s bedroom and dabbed some behind my ears.
2 A lot of young Latino actors have said to me, “Why can’t we get an Oscar? Why can’t we be nominated?” And the terrible truth is that if you don’t get the right parts, you’re not going to be. Are you going to get an Oscar nomination for one of those Judd Apatow movies? Not likely, no matter what nationality you are. And I think that until we as Latino actors get to do roles that have really serious meaning, it’s going to be impossible to get nominated.
3 [Her Oscar acceptance speech] I can’t believe it! Good Lord! I’ll leave you with that.
4 It is very important that women of this country be made aware of the dangers of osteoporosis in the sense that it is a silent and invisible disease with no symptoms whatsoever.
5 Bigger than life is not difficult for me. I am bigger than life.

Moreno also described her disappointment about one-time lover Elvis Presley being much more like “a baby brother” than a stud.
11 Was dancing professionally in a Greenwich Village nightclub at age 9, as arranged by her dance teacher, Rita Hayworth’s uncle.

Composer Richard Rodgers is second, winning his four awards within a 17-year time frame.
18 When filming her final scene in West Side Story (1961) in which her character “Anita” is harassed and nearly raped by New York street gang members “the Jets”, she was reduced to tears, as it brought flashbacks of similar real-life childhood experiences. When she broke down, the other actors nobly stopped and comforted her, helping her to get through the scene, pointing out that the audience was going to hate the gang members for what they were doing, as “Anita” was well meaning in what she was doing and the sequence set up a critical plot element.
19 Daughter, Fernanda Luisa Gordon (Fernanda Gordon), was born in 1967. A successful jewelry designer, she founded Nandiz Design. She is married to David Fisher and they have two children named Justin and Cameron.
20 In 1977, she became the ninth performer to win the Triple Crown of Acting: (Oscar: Best Supporting Actress in West Side Story (1961), Tony, Best Featured Actress, The Ritz (1975) and Emmy 1977 (The Muppet Show (1976)) and 1978 (The Rockford Files (1974)).
21 During the first season (episode 19) of The Electric Company (1971), she was in a sketch in which she shouted “Hey, you guys!” repeatedly. It became so popular with the show’s producers that they decided to use it as the catchphrase in their opening, starting with season two.
22 In June 2004 she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W. Bush.
23 When her star was unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she fell on top of it, openly and uncontrollably weeping. She later commented, “I had been dreaming of this day since I was six!”.

Alan Ladd Jr’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Alan Ladd Jr Net Worth: Alan Ladd Jr is an American film industry executive and producer who has a net worth of $75 million. Born October 22, 1937 in Los Angeles, California, US, Alan Ladd is most appreciated for giving George Lucas the go-ahead to make Star Wars when everyone opposed it. He dived into the movie industry as an independent producer in Great Britain during the late ’60s. Having made nine movies, he got back to the States in 1973 to become Head of Creative Affairs at 20th Century Fox. Only three years later, Ladd took the lead of the company as its president. Under Ladd, Fox created several classics including Star Wars (1977) and Alien (1979). However, Ladd left Fox’s president position to found his own production company, The Ladd Company, in 1979. He continued to enjoy more successes with comedies like Night Shift (1982), Police Academy (1984), as well as the Oscar winners The Right Stuff (1983) and Chariots of Fire (1983). One of the company’s most notable productions is also the cult classic Blade Runner (1982). Ladd joined MGM/UA in 1985, and he eventually acquired the positions of Chairman and CEO of Pathé Entertainment. In his tenure there, MGM/UA enjoyed the perks of producing such hits as Moonstruck (1987), A Fish Called Wanda (1988) and Thelma & Louise (1991). It was in 1993, when Ladd reformed his eponymous company with Paramount Pictures where he produced 1995’s hits The Brady Bunch Movie and the Best Picture winner Braveheart. In the course of his four-decade-long career, Ladd’s film productions have grossed billions of dollars, snagged more than 150 Academy Award nominations, won 50 Oscars and a number of Golden Globes.

Brian Bedford’s net worth, biography, fact, career, awards and life story

Brian Bedford Net Worth: Brian Bedford is an English actor who has a net worth is $2 million. Brian Bedford was born February 16, 1935 in Morley, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, U.K. Considered one of the finest classical actors on two continents, the English actor has spent much of his career acting and directing at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada, but has also appeared on Broadway sporadically over a forty‐year period. Bedford became prominently noted in America in Five Finger Exercise (1958) and the double bill of The Private Ear and The Public Eye (1963). Among his most memorable performances in the United States are the self‐righteous General in The Unknown Soldier and His Wife (1967), a dry and droll Elyot Chase in Private Lives (1969), the absent‐minded moral philosopher George in Jumpers (1974), British actor William Charles Macready caught in the Astor Place Riots in Two Shakespearean Actors (1992), and the lordly Harcourt Courtley in London Assurance (1996). But it was Bedford’s classical portrayals that have been particularly cherished, from Molière clowns to Shakespearean kings. An average‐looking actor his subtle gestures and crystal‐clear voice on stage combine to create magical performances. Bedford has also occasionally appeared on television over the years.
