A vital revelation of Raymond Moody arrest in Georgetown, South Carolina, has provided the hopes of justice for late Brittanee Drexel. He is 62 years old man from SC, not to be confused with American Philosopher Raymond Moody.
On May 11, the FBI discovered remains positively identified as Brittanee Drexel, thanks to DNA and dental records.
Investigators believe she was buried there on April 26, 2009, after the atrocities she faced. She was just 17 years old when she disappeared on the way to Myrtle Beach.
Drexel’s mother, Dawn Drexel, thanked law enforcement for their tireless efforts and the media for keeping her daughter’s case in the spotlight.
Raymond was arrested on the charge on May 4. According to the arrest warrant, Moody took “overt actions to conceal and dispose of evidence of a crime.”
A background check on Moody conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division last week revealed that the alleged obstruction of justice took place on April 25, 2009.
Missing Brittanee Drexel Remains Were Found
Missing remains of 17-year-old teen Brittanee Drexel have been found, which led to important discoveries and a DNA match. The findings widened the doors for further investigation, and authorities arrested Raymond Moddy on suspicion.
Dawn Drexel said, “This is a mother’s worst nightmare.” “Today, as I have for the past 13 years, I am mourning the loss of my lovely daughter. We’ve come a long way toward the peace I’d hoped for.”
Brittanee’s father, Chad Drexel, said the news was bittersweet and needed more work to bring his daughter’s killer to justice.
In 2012, Moody was identified as a person of interest. Police reportedly searched his hotel room near where Drexel’s cellphone last gave off a signal.
The investigation made little progress until 2016 when the FBI announced that they believed the teen was dead.
Officials said she was abducted and taken about 60 miles south to the small fishing town of McClellanville during a press conference.
