Ranbir Kapoor Wiki Biography
Ranbir Kapoor was born on the 28th September 1982, in Mumbai, Maharashtra India, and is one of the most popular Bollywood actors, widely known for his roles in movies “Wake Up Sid” (2009), “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” (2009), as well as “Raajneeti” (2010) and “Rockstar” (2011).
Have you ever wondered how much wealth this talented young actor has accumulated so far? How rich Ranbir Kapoor is? According to sources, it is estimated that the total amount of Ranbir Kapoor’s net worth, as of mid-2016, is $50 million, including assets such as, among others, a penthouse as well as ownership of the Mumbai City Football Club and Picture Shuru production company, acquired through his acting career which has been active since 2007.
Ranbir Kapoor Net Worth $50 Million
Ranbir Kapoor is a descendent of the most prestigious and, certainly, the greatest family of the Hindu movie industry – the Kapoors. As a son of Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor, both actors, Ranbir belongs to the fourth generation of actors in the family – his great-grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor was one of the pioneers of Indian theater, while his grandfather Raj Kapoor, “the greatest showman of Indian cinema”, was an actor, producer and a director, so it is no wonder that Ranbir chose to become an actor himself. Ranbir Kapoor attended Bombay Scottish School and H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, before moving to New York City and enrolling at the School of Visual Arts and Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Before returning to India and beginning his Bollywood career, while still on college Ranbir Kapoor directed and starred in two short movies – “Passion to Love” and “India 1964”. Subsequently after returning to Mumbai, he served as Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s assistant director on the 2005 drama “Black”. In 2007, Ranbir worked on another Bhansali’s film, but this time as one of the main protagonists in tragically romantic movie “Saawariya”, which marked the debut of Ranbir Kapoor’s professional acting career. These engagements provided the basis for Ranbir Kapoor’s, now quite impressive, overall net worth.
Although his previous engagements where commercial failures, Ranbir Kapoor’s career was on the rise and he was soon cast in the main role in Siddharth Anand’s 2008 “Bachna Ae Haseeno”, a romantic comedy about a womanizer and his three romantic connections, featuring Deepika Padukone, Minissha Lamba and Bipasha Basu in the leading roles. The movie hit the big score at the box office, helping Ranbir Kapoor to launch his career dramatically and also add considerably to his net worth.
During 2009, Ranbir Kapoor made some of his most notable appearances so far, “Wake Up Sid”, “Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year” as well as “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani”. The latter was ranked as “the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2009” and has certainly helped Ranbir Kapoor to significantly increase his wealth. For his roles in each of these three movies, Ranbir Kapoor was honored with Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.
In the course of the next several years, Ranbir Kapoor has managed to keep a continuous string of professional acting engagements, appearing in several movies including the commercially successful “Raajneeti” (2010), “Chillar Party” (2011) as well as “Rockstar” (2011) for which he won another Filmfare Best Actor Award. The role of deaf and mute man in the 2012 romantic comedy “Barfi!” was followed by appearing in “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” (2013) which scored $45 million at the box office. All these involvements have helped Ranbir Kapoor to win the hearts of numerous cinephiles and also make a positive impact on his net worth.
After a break of almost two years, Ranbir Kapoor returned to the big screen in 2015 in the roles of mysterious thief in romantic thriller “Roy” as well as an ambitious boxer in “Bombay Velvet”. In his career so far, Ranbir Kapoor has acted in over 20 movies and been rewarded with several prestigious nominations and awards.
When it comes to his personal life, Ranbir Kapoor was in a relationship with his co-star and colleague Deepika Padukone. There were some rumors about an alleged affair with Katrina Kaif in 2013 but those weren’t officially confirmed before 2015; they are now believed to have separated anyway.
Apart from his professional acting career, Ranbir Kapoor is a football enthusiast and also a supporter of various charities including, among several others, the All Stars Football Club and the Magic Funds Organization.
