Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes Wiki Biography

Ralph Nathaniel Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes was born on the 22nd December 1962, in Ipswich, Suffolk, England of Irish, Scottish and English ancestry. He is an actor, perhaps best known for appearing in the role of Nazi Amon Goeth in the film “Schindler’s List” (1993), portraying Count Almásy in “The English Patient” (1996), as Lord Voldemort in the “Harry Potter” film series (2005-2011), as well as starring in the “James Bond” series. His career has been active since 1985. So, have you ever wondered how rich Ralph Fiennes is? Sources estimate that Ralph’s net worth is over $30 million, as of mid-2016, which has been accumulated through his successful acting career in the film industry.

Ralph Fiennes Net Worth $30 Million

Ralph Fiennes was raised with six siblings by parents Mark Fiennes, a photographer and farmer, and Jennifer Lash, who was a writer; he is the eight cousin of Charles, Prince of Wales. Almost all of his siblings are involved in the entertainment industry – actor Joseph Fiennes, director Martha Fiennes, composer Magnus Fiennes, filmmaker Sophie Fiennes, conservationist Jacob Fiennes, and Michael Emery, who is an archaeologist. Ralph studied at the St. Kieran’s College, but later he transferred to Newtown School in County Waterford. Soon after his family moved to Salisbury, where he matriculated from Bishop Wordsworth’s School. Afterwards, he enrolled at Chelsea College of Art to study painting, but in no time he decided to transfer to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art(RADA), where he began pursuing a professional acting career.

Ralph started his career as a stage actor, at the Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park, and he was also a part of the National Theatre, before he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. Ever since then his career has gone only upwards, and so has his net worth. To speak about his accomplishments as a stage actor, he has portrayed Shakespearian characters throughout the years, including Curio in “Twelfth Night”, Lysander in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Troilus in “Troilus And Cressida”, “King Lear” in which he portrayed Edmund, “Love’s Labour’s Lost” as King of Navarre, and in “Coriolanus” as the lead character, all of which increased his net worth by a large margin. He has also portrayed characters from other notable stage productions, including “Ivanov”, by Anton Chekov inthe lead role, “Fathers and Sons” by Ivan Turgenev, in which he portrayed Arkady Nikolayevich Kirsanov, among many others, all of which added to his net worth.

Apart from his successful career as a stage actor, he has also been recognized for his screen appearances. His TV career began in 1990, with the role of Michael in the series “Prime Suspect”. He following year came his first notable role, as Heathcliff in the film “Wuthering Heights”, alongside Juliette Binoche, and Janet McTeer. During the 1990s, Ralph featured in such films as “Schindler’s List” (1993), directed by Steven Spielberg, “Strange Days” (1995), with Juliette Lewis, and Angela Bassett in lead roles, “The English Patient” (1996), with Juliette Binoche and William Dafoe, and “The End Of The Affair” (1999), among many others, which further increased his net worth.

He continued to line up success after success in the 2000s, starting with the role of Francis Dolarhyde in the film “Red Dragon” (2002) with Anthony Hopkins, and Edward Norton. In 2005, he was selected for the role of Lord Voldemort in the popular franchise film “Harry Potter”, which he further portrayed in “Harry Potter And Goblet Of Fire” (2005), “Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix” (2007), “Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1” (2010), “Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2” (2011), all of which increased his net worth by a large degree.

To speak further of his accomplishments as actor, he appeared in films “Bernard And Doris” (2006), “Clash of the Titans” (2010), “Coriolanus” (2011) – which was his directing debut – “Wrath Of The Titans” (2012), “Skyfall” (2012), and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” (2014). Most recently, he has been featured in films “Flying Horse”, “Hail, Caesar!”, and “Spectre” (2015), all of which added to his net worth. Overall, Ralph has appeared in over 50 films and TV productions, plus more than 40 stage plays. He is clearly regarded as a consummate actor for his ability to play varied roles on screen and on the stage.

Thanks to his talents, Ralph has received numerous prestigious nominations, and awards, including two Oscar nominations in categories Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work on “The English Patient”, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work on “Schindler’s List”. Furthermore, he won the BAFTA Award for “Schindler’s List”, in category Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Regarding his personal life, Ralph Fiennes was married to actress Alex Kingston from 1993 to 1997. Later, he dated actress Francesca Annis from 1995 to 2006 – he is currently believed to be single; he has no children. Ralph is also known for being an ambassador for UNICEF UK.

Quote
1 [on A Bigger Splash (2015)] I’d never been asked to play a guy who dances and gets naked and sings karaoke! I don’t believe I ever played a part like Harry… It was a very special kind of film.
2 [on doing full frontal nudity in A Bigger Splash (2015)] I liked [the nudity] because it was in the service of illustrating extreme spontaneity in Harry’s character. All my nude scenes are extremely spontaneous and appropriate for the situations in which my character is. My nudity is a function of the film’s plot. I knew I’d run around naked, so I had to physically prepare, to tighten the muscles.
3 [on directing himself in The Invisible Woman (2013)] I’ve loved being able to be, as it were, the puppet master of my own performance. I love that. But you need people to give you good, constructive, critical feedback. It’s crazy. It’s very, very hard. I don’t know how people do it consistently and do it well – like Orson Welles did, or Laurence Olivier did, Clint Eastwood does. Kevin Costner’s done it. There’s no question that you’ve got two often opposing headspaces which you have to balance.
4 My parents were very financially-challenged. All of us children have the memory of being told that there was no money, we have to sell this, there’s no presents for Christmas. Of being in the front line of that constant worry; the atmosphere in the home always charged with anxiety. ‘What do we do? What do we do?’
5 [on filming Coriolanus (2011) in Belgrade, Serbia] You really do have fantastic actors here in Serbia as well as a long theatre tradition, which is probably why it’s now even stronger than that of London and I’m really flattered to be filming here.
6 [on filming Coriolanus (2011) in Belgrade, Serbia] I am lucky to have a great crew from Serbia and the UK, and I’ve been working on the script with John Logan for almost three and a half years.
7 [on filming Coriolanus (2011) in Belgrade, Serbia] I needed an important and big capital city and I didn’t want it to be Rome, but any contemporary city. Given this is a modern interpretation of Shakespeare, Rome just wasn’t the suitable location because Rome of today is reminiscent of a mighty state like the USA or Russia, and I wanted it to be something different. I’ve come to realize here in Belgrade that a lot of history is reflected through buildings. This is a capital city with a great history. I have been to Bucharest and Zagreb, but Belgrade has always been the first choice for me. Initially, I was attracted by Belgrade’s spirit and later I realized this was an ideal filming location.
8 [on the death of Natasha Richardson] I cannot imagine a world without her wit, her love, her mischief, her great, great talent and her gift for living. I loved her very much. She was a supreme friend. I shall miss her deeply.
9 The people I consider successful are so because of how they handle their responsibilities to other people, how they approach the future, people who have a full sense of the value of their life and what they want to do with it. I call people successful not because they have money or their business is doing well but because, as human beings, they have a fully developed sense of being alive and engaged in a lifetime task of collaboration with other human beings — their mothers and fathers, their family, their friends, their loved ones, the friends who are dying, the friends who are being born. Success.. is all about being able to extend love to people… not in a big, capital letter sense but in the everyday. Little by little, task by task, gesture by gesture, word by word.
10 I veer away from trying to understand why I act. I just know I need to do it.
11 I tried not to play Voldemort over the top, and then I realized there’s no other way.
12 [on The Avengers (1998)] I think it’s a badge of honor to have a real flop on your resume.
13 The process of making a film is a mad lottery. Whenever you get the feeling that you’re making something special, you have to quickly squash it because you are so often proved wrong.
14 Awards are like applause, and every actor likes to hear applause.
15 As an actor, a part of you expects to be looked at. A part of you wants to be looked at. But when I’m playing a part, in my imagined world, I feel I’m not me. I may be using bits of me, but I love the sense that I’m being someone else.
16 When children were introduced to Lord Voldemort, they looked suitably terrified. Which gave me great gratification.
17 It’s ‘Rafe’, actually.

In a television interview on AMC’s Shootout (2003) (November 20, 2005), he claimed to have been unimpressed with the previous three Harry Potter films. Fiennes was apparently nonplussed at the idea of appearing in the fourth film of a series and stated that he had “never bought into [the] world” of Harry Potter. Family members urged him to take the role while other friends counseled against it.
