Where Is Janis Carter Now?
Janis now lives in Banjul, the Gambian capital, and has a small group of “close and loyal” human companions.
She also lives in the old enclosure at her riverside chimp rehabilitation center and restoration initiative, where she spends most of her days.
Janis thought the chimp had died after seeing a dream that Lucy was aboard a plane in 1987.
“I’d gone from expecting to self-shoot some impressionistic shots in a far-off fetid jungle, to looking at filming full blown drama recon in a cold studio next to a dent repair garage a 10-minute drive from home” – behind the scenes on Lucy the Human Chimp https://t.co/el4uUwBsWa pic.twitter.com/39AIgBL7J7

Janis said that there was no chimp/human and Janis and Lucy were the ones.
She spends most of her days at her chimp rehabilitation center and restoration initiative by the river, where she also sleeps in the old enclosure.
She’s been writing a diary when she gets older, and she’s already taken the first concrete steps toward reuniting with her estranged family.
