Was The Remuera Surgeon Philip Polkinghorne Suspected For Wife Pauline Hanna Death?

Following the mysterious murder of Pauline Hanna, her husband surgeon Philip Polkinghorne was claimed to be the primary suspect.

In a previous interview with the Herald, Polkinghorne said that the police were treating him as a “person of suspect” in their inquiry.

With her husband—from whom she had three adult children—and her sister-in-law, Hanna shared ownership of the $4 million Upland Rd. house.

Firefighters were called to a house fire approximately six weeks after she passed away. When they got there, they saw that the house was not on fire, but a portable gas bottle.

Per the stuff.co.nz, the police inquiry has been conducted in secret for the past year following Hanna’s murder.

The lady had reportedly hired a private investigator before her passing, and detectives are said to have spoken with many of her husband’s colleagues.

Last year, Madison Ashton, an escort based in Melbourne, reportedly revealed to Australian media that she had been dating Philip for the last few years and that she had been assisting the New Zealand Police with their inquiry.

Last May, the Upland Rd. house allegedly had methamphetamine traces. A review found no clinical issues, according to Philip’s company, Auckland Eye. Since then, he had resigned.

The man is scheduled to appear in Auckland District Court later today, as per Det Insp. Aaron Pascoe.

Where Is Philip Polkinghorne Now?
