Champlin cops claim a 35-year-old woman was found dead in the yard of a home with knife wounds on Monday night, and a suspect has been apprehended.

Police were dispatched to a home on Thousand Pines Entry in Champlin. Peachu Yates, 35, was located in the backyard covered in blood and struggling to breathe on Monday.

Champlin Police Chief Ty Schmidt said James Nyonteh was arrested in Fargo on Tuesday morning on charges of killing Peachu Yates, 35, at a home, Thousand Pines Entry.

The police officers received a complaint of a woman lying in the yard of the home. Yates was found “covered in blood and not breathing” on Monday, March 28, 2022.

Nynoteh was wanted and was living in an apartment where he knew the tenants. Around 9:45 a.m., he was arrested on an outstanding warrant and placed in the Cass County Jail.

A 45-year-old suspect in a suburban Minneapolis murder was brought into jail at Fargo’s Dakota Park apartment complex near Essentia Hospital on Tuesday morning.

James Nyonteh was arrested on the charge of stabbing his wife to death. The tenants of the apartments cooperated with  Fargo Police in the arrest of the killer.

As per the Champlin police department, James Nyonteh was arrested on an outstanding warrant and placed in the Cass County Jail around  9:45 a.m.
