The suspect Payton Gendron has been arrested for the massacre. He suddenly appeared in tactical gear, heavily armed, and was live-streaming the whole attack.
Twitch: Shooting Video Of Payton Gendron Was Livestreamed
The suspect, Payton Gendron was reportedly live streaming the shootout via his Twitch profile. He filmed the entire episode with a camera mounted to his helmet. However, the video has been removed from the media following its zero-tolerance policy against violence.
A Twitch representative has stated that the Livestream was removed two minutes after the shooting started. He told: “We are devastated to hear about the shooting that took place this afternoon in Buffalo, New York.”
The statement further read as per The Hollywood Reporter: “Our hearts go out to the community impacted by this tragedy. Twitch has a zero-tolerance policy against violence of any kind and works swiftly to respond to all incidents. The user has been indefinitely suspended from our service, and we are taking all appropriate action, including monitoring for any accounts rebroadcasting this content.”
According to the police reports, thirteen people were shot in the attack. Among these, eleven belonged to the African-American group. Ten people have died following the incident and two remain in serious condition at the hospital.
18-Year-Old Shooter Payton Gendron Has Been Arrested
Payton Gendron was taken to the courts on Saturday night. He has been charged with first-degree murder and ordered detained without bail.
The video footage has revealed that the shooting first began in the parking lot. It continued in the store before he was taken into custody by the police. The authorities have stated that Gendron was motivated by hate and extremism.
The FBI is still investigating Gendron’s background and his social media platforms including Discord. They are also analyzing a purported manifesto posted online in connection with the mass shooting.
Who Is Payton Gendron?
Payton Gendron is an 18-year-old teenager accused of killing 10 innocent people in a Buffalo supermarket. He is a resident of Conklin, New York.
According to the police, Gendron had posted a white supremacist manifesto in recent days. He was heavily motivated by racial crimes and mostly agreed with Brenton Harrison Tarrant, who had previously live-streamed his attack killing 51 people. Gendron had already planned his attack in early January and choose the Tops Friendly Supermarkets. The place holds the majority of the black percentage.
Gendron had been living with his two siblings and parents, according to the police inquiry. A video exists in which his mother presents him with a handgun, which provides more information about his past.
