Nydia Bertran Stone is the wife of Mr. Roger Stone, one of America’s top political consultants. Ms. Stone is of Cuban descent and was once a professional model who now devotes herself to photography. The two men met during one of Ronald Reagan’s political campaigns in the 1980s. The couple have one child together, Scott Stone. Who is Nydia Bertran?
At her birth on May 8, 1946, Ms. Stone was given the name Nydia Margarita Bertran. The Bertan family moved from Cuba to America when communism was established by the government of Fidel Castro. Before that, Nydia’s father worked as a Cuban diplomat under the Batista regime. His position allowed their family to live in wealth. Nydia attended the best schools and received a proper education.
Arriving in America, she quit school and started modeling as a full-time profession. She began posing for local commercials and marketing campaigns. Nydia Bertran was very successful as a model for several years and over time she discovered her passion for photography.
Young Nydia saved up for a camera that she used for practice. Soon she went from being photographed to being behind the camera. As she continued to learn and hone her skills, she started getting photography jobs.

Before meeting and marrying Roger Stone, Nydia Bertran was married to another man. However, the marriage was short-lived. Roger Stone had also been married for sixteen years.
Nydia and Roger met at one of President Reagan’s campaign meetings and they immediately fell for each other after discovering how much they had in common. Their wedding then took place in Las Vegas in 1992.
Passion for photography
As previously stated, Nydia Bertran has always been in love with the camera; first, in front, then later, behind. Ever since that camera gave her some hard-earned savings, nothing has stopped her. At first, she did small projects for individual photo shoots and other small events.
Over time, she moved into newsphotography which helped her to participate in several campaigns, especially in politics, such as the Reagan campaign, where she met Roger. She was also reportedly a personal photographer for President Nixon.
The stones in a sex scandal
Around 1996, Roger Stone was forced to quit his job as a consultant to Senator Bob Dole in his quest for the presidency after news made headlines and mainstream media about a sexualized ad involving Stone and his wife. The ad featured sexy photographs of the Stones looking for sex partners.
They called themselves experienced swingers who were looking for similar couples. Even though the advertising costs were placed on Nydia’s bill, the couple denied the allegation. They claimed that Roger’s photo was snapped during a bodybuilding contest and Nydia’s during her modeling days.
Stone came clean a decade later with “The New Yorker” publishing an article titled “The Dirty Trickster.” Stone confessed that it was all real and he had to deny it at the time because his grandparents were still alive.
Roger has been described as a lobbyist and conspiracy theorist who delights in courting any form of publicity, positive or negative. He is popular for his use of opposition research with primarily Republican clients.
Nydia Bertran is fiercely defensive of her husband
Nydia is not new to politics and its visibility. Her education prepared her for life with Roger. Nydia is active on Instagram and Twitter and often takes to both social networks to air her opinions and her displeasure with various political and social issues.
On January 25, 2019, Roger was arrested following the investigation by Mueller’s special counsel. Stone was charged with witness tampering, five counts of misrepresentation and obstruction of due process, all in connection with President Trump’s 2016 campaign. On the day of his arrest, he was released on $250,000 bail.
Prior to his arrest, Nydia Bertran Stone shared several tweets defending him in 2018. She claimed that Paul Manafort (the former Trump campaign manager) had no information that could negatively affect her husband; she accused him of lying to get on TV. Nydia Bertran then shared that she had been with Roger for 30 years and that no interview would reveal what does not exist. She then shared tweets in support of her husband.
