When you’ve spent a decade in the biggest basketball league in the world, it’s fair to expect you’ll become more and more popular among league fans. While that’s not entirely untrue for Orlando Magic point guard DJ Augustin; it doesn’t feel as true to him as it should. Maybe it’s because of the traveling career he’s had in the NBA so far or his inability to replicate the talent that landed him in the NBA. Either way, there’s still a lot more for the average fan to learn about this Augustin and here’s some things to know about the Orlando Magic player.
Who is NBA’s DJ Augustin?
Augustin was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 10, 1987. This man and his family were victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and were forced to leave New Orleans. While at Brother Martin High School before the hurricane, he led the team to two state championships.
Augustin was a much sought-after talent by his high school days. It’s not hard to see why when you consider his passing and accurate shooting skills. From his first match at his new school, Augustin was a talented and efficient player. It didn’t take long for him to be recognized in various basketball circles, including being a McDonald’s All American upon graduating from high school.
