“Hosting” on Twitch means that one streamer automatically sends all of their viewers to another streamer of their choice, as soon as their own stream ends. Moon is most well-known for playing Overwatch, but he also plays Dark Souls 3, Welcome to the Game II, Throne of Lies, IRL, Darkest Dungeon, Skyrim and many others.
Moon is smart when it comes to growing his channel, as he plays a large variety of games to reach a broader audience.
He streams consistently and at hours which work for both North American and European audiences, to ensure the majority of his viewers would be able to watch the stream – he streams Monday to Saturday from 10 pm to 3 am EST. From his Twitch, he started a YouTube channel with the same name, following some support and encouragement from his fans. His first YouTube video was “Hooking ‘through’ Genji deflect,” and one of his most successful videos, with 1.2 million views, is “1 like = 1 cry.”
His series of “Stream Highlights” gets a lot of views, followed by his “Skyrim” playthrough with over 170,000 views.
His fans are known as the “Moonions.”

Net worth and salary
As of March 2020, Moonmoon_ow’s net worth is estimated at $1.7 million. His income varies according to the number of views his channels and sites attract – to date his Twitch channel has more than 68 million views and over 900,000 subscribers. He averages at around 8,600 views every stream, with his highest viewership during a stream close to 20,000. He makes money through donations, ad revenue, subscribers, and merchandise.
Twitch streamers receive 50% of the subscription fee, eg about $2.50 from a $4.99 tier; Aa the popularity of the streamer grows, so does their percentage. The streamer can receive up to 100% of the subscription fee as a way for Twitch to encourage them to remain on their platform. Streamers can make money when fans cheer with bits in the chat (known as the Cheering Feature). Cheers are animated chat emotes that use bits. “Cheer1” brings up a grey bouncing triangle and “Cheer100” costs $1.4 and generates a dancing purple diamond.
Fans can Cheer any amount they want to, as the amount of money increases, so does the size of the emote. A fractured red star represents “Cheer10000” which costs $140. Streamers receive 1 cent for every bit, and Twitch keeps 0.4 cents. On Twitch, the fans can donate money through the streamer’s Paypal and cryptocurrencies such as ethereim, bitcoin or litecoin. Streamers have the option to link third-party services with Twitch which allow additional features such as alerts and donations.
The most popular services are Stream Elements, Gaming for Good, Muxy, StreamLabs and StreamTip. The services create a donation page on the channel’s server.
On YouTube, Moon has over 145,000 subscribers. According to his social blade, he earns anywhere between $19 to $305 a month or $229 to $3,700 a year.
