Erick Gonzalez’s Career in UFC as a Fighter
At the age of 13 when he was in eighth grade during summer, he started wrestling. At first, he had no clue about wrestling so one day his brother took him to Gym where he kind of fell in love with wrestling.
He mentioned in the interviews how he started doing MMA at the age of fifteen out of a Gold`s Gym where they designed a little and small area for MMA. He had no idea back then but he signed up immediately where he first experienced his first leg kick and fell in love with it. Gonzalez thrillingly loved the competition organized by the gym.
Later he started to take wrestling seriously at the age of 22 or 23 where his love became his passion and ultimately led to a professional career as a UFC fighter.
Gonzalez made his professional debut against Derion Chapman on January 9, 2015, on the preliminary card of BAMMA Bad beat 14. He dragged the win from the very start of his career. He had 16 fights throughout his career, over which he won 13 and lost 6 matches.

Erick Gonzalez’s nickname “The Ghost Pepper and What Happened to Him
When he was at his family restaurant when he received his fighter nickname “The Ghost Pepper” which was given by the community. His experience with ghost pepper was different he stated” one day his uncle brought these bunch of peppers and he didn’t know one of them was ghost pepper. He just thought those were habaneros. He being a young guy grabbed the whole thing and take a bit. He suffered the consequences and started to burn up”.
Around that time he was supposed to have a fighter nickname so one of the business guys suggested ghost pepper. At first, he thought it was different but later he liked it and stuck to it till the end.
He wanted people to not forget him like his unique name. Whenever he entered the ring he wanted to sting and make sure his opponents never experience fighting against him.
Recently, A new fight has been added to the main card between Terrance Mckinney(T`Wrecks) and Erick Gonzalez(The Ghost Pepper) in UFC. Unfortunately, he got defeated by R1 2:17 (Rear Naked Choked).
