Michael Gracey directed the drama film in his directional debut. Written by Bill Condon and Jenny Bicks, the film starred Zac Efron, Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Williams, and Zendaya Coleman.
It featured nine original songs from Justin Paul and Benj Pasek and is based on the story and life of a famous showman and entertainer P. T. Barnum, and his making of the Barnum & Bailey Circus, a traveling circus company.
Principal photography of the film started in November 2016 in New York City. It premiered on December 8, 2017, and was released on December 20, 2017, in the United States by 20th Century Fox.

Mishay Petronelli showed her amazing dancing skills in the 2022 musical comedy film Better Nate Than Ever.
