Milena Govich was born on 29 October 1976, in Norman, Oklahoma to Serbian Father, Bruce and Scottish-English mother Marilyn. She is an American actress best known for her portrayal of the New York City Police Department officer Nina Cassidy on NBC’s ‘’Law and Order’’.

Milena followed the footsteps of her parents, studying music in college. It is reported that her mother Marilyn is a voice teacher at the University of Central Oklahoma, and Milena’s late father Bruce taught music as well. Milena attended Southview High School and was a successful student, becoming the valedictorian of her generation. Graduating from the University of Central Oklahoma – she was once again named a valedictorian – with a double degree in pre-medical studies and performance, Govich moved to New York, where she would eventually start performing in theatres.
