Ochmann grew up in Celaya and, being very interested in acting from an early age, made it his profession when he was 16 years old. Mauricio enrolled into the Joane Baron-Brown Studio in Los Angeles, California, and entered the acting world by making his debut in ‘’La Cosa’’ in 1997. The following year, Ochmann portrayed the role of Santiago Berriozábal in 64 episodes of ‘’Azul Tequila’’, acting alongside prominent telenovelas actors like Víctor González and Arturo Beristáin. Having finished with this project, in 1990 Mauricio made his silver screen debut in a minor role by joining the cast of ‘’Message in a Bottle’’, a drama romance movie starring Kevin Costner and Robin Wright. His net worth was well established.

In 2001, he played Javier Borja and Joaquín ‘Joaco’ Borja in two episodes of ‘’ Like in the Movies’’ and remained busy throughout the early and mid-2000s. Most importantly, Mauricio landed the starring role in ‘’Amarte Así’’ in 2005, portraying Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Reyes alongside Litzy and Alejandro Felipe.
