On Saturday, the University of Michigan released 118 pages of Mark Schlissel’s email right after they decided to fire him from the position.
The decision was made by the board of directors without a public vote behind closed doors. The University released a statement immediately after, where they also revealed its new interim president Mary Sue Coleman.
Since December of last year, after an anonymous tip, Mark’s affair with a subordinate came to light, and with that, the University has been looking into the matter conducting an independent investigation, according to the freep.
According to the statement released on the University website, they are looking at whether he had violated supervisor relationship policy or not. However, after the investigation, his affair with the University’s employee, over a period of years, was confirmed. Schlissel used his Universities email account to communicate with his subordinate, as per clickondetroit.

Mark was on a five-year contract, which brings him $750,000 yearly: a $100,000 annual retention bonus and $20,000 in annual retirement pay.
