Mariella Frostrup, Born in Oslo and raised in Ireland, is a bibliophile. She has extensively worked with charities and organizations that aid women and children around the world. She is the co-founder of the Gender Rights and Equality Action Trust in 2010.
Mariella Frostrup has been at the heart of the arts world for 30 years – who doesn’t know her smokey voice and blonde bob ?
She is a member of the judging panel for Amazon’s Kindle Storyteller Award, the host of Radio 4’s Open Book and the popular podcast ‘Books To Live By.’
“I’m pretty ruthless as judge. I’m very black and white and know what I like, as I’ve been reading books for a very long time,” declares Frostrup.
She has written for numerous publications, works as an agony aunt for the Guardian, and has been on television as both a host and as herself (including one very funny cameo on Absolutely Fabulous). Her bibliophilic nature contributes to her excellent abilities as a book critic.
And good writing seems to run Frostrup’s family. Her father is the former foreign editor of the Irish Times, according to the Telegraph.
Frostrup, a proud feminist, has lived a life considerably far more interesting than most. Maintaining a busy media profession while while building a relationship is generally hard, but has she cracked it?
