Maren Larae Morris wasborn to parents, Greg Morris and Kellie Morris, in Arlington, Texas on April 10, 1990. She has only one brother, a younger sister, Karsen. Growing up, she spent most of her childhood in her mother’s living room, but when she was twelve, her father, Greg, bought her a guitar. It was then that his musical journey literally began. On June 14, 2005, Maren Morris recorded her first studio album titled Walk On and it was released under Mozzi Blozzi Music.

In September 2015, she finally signed a contract with Columbia Nashville.
The five Ep songs were re-released via Columbia Nashville Records on November 6, 2015 with the song My Church used as the promotional single. Through strategic marketing and proper national radio airplay, the Ep was able to sell over 2,400 records, charting on two Billboard charts including: Country Albums and Top Heatseekers, peaking 27 and 1, respectively. More so, My Church was on the Hot Country Songs chart, leading the RIAA to certify it Gold. The following year, Morris released the hero album on June 3, 2016 under Columbia Nashville and the album did well to reach No. 1 on the Top Country Album chart and No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The hit streak of the song My Church also earned Maren Morris four nominations at the 59th Grammy Awards, as well as a plaque in the Best Country Solo Performance category. In 2017, she collaborated with Thomas Rhett on the song You Envy and later featured with Zedd and Gray on the hit song The Middle which was released in January 2018.
