Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, known professionally as Macklemore, was born on the 19th day of June 1983 in Seattle Washington. His mother, Julie Schott, a social worker, and his father, Bill Haggerty, raised him alongside his only brother, Tim Haggerty.
On the rapper’s background, Macklemore attended Garfield High School before moving on to Nathan Hale High School. During his years with Nathan Hale, he took on the stage name “Professor Macklemore.” His years with Garfield were also musically eventful. along with a few other students, the young rapper created ‘Elevated Elements’, a hip-hop group that released his debut album, The Progress.
