During the trip, she got the chance to visit the Maritime Museum in Fremantle, where her eye got attracted to an exhibition about a family of British settlers involved in the early pearl diving industry.
Her curiosity got the best of her, and she began obsessing about the pearl industry and went through research about it by visiting the British Library till going to isolated pearl farms in the farthest reaches of northwest Australia. ‘Moonlight and the Pearler’s Daughter’ has gotten reviews and has been liked by many readers.
