From Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to David and Victoria Beckham, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and then Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, there are plenty of celebrity couples many of whom have fallen in love over the years. Henry Golding and Liv Lo are another couple that are gradually moving up the list. Although Liv Lo is a TV host, model, and yoga teacher, she became more popular in the world outside of Taiwan and Japan as Golding’s wife.
Who is Liv Lo – Henry Golding’s wife?
It was on May 21, 1985 in Taichung, Taiwan that Liv Lo was born to a Taiwanese mother and an Italian father. However, she considers herself a complete Taiwanese.
Liv was raised by her mother and adoptive father, Richard Lo, from Hong Kong. As for her biological father, he was never involved in her life. In fact, she never met him.
She was raised alongside her sister, LeezaPazkowski in Taichung, in a household that spoke more than one language. She stayed there until she was 17, when she was courted in the fashion industry. Since that age, she was mainly independent. Due to the fact that the modeling agency she worked with (in Taiwan) had a lot of girls, she worked very hard and that helped her later move to Japan.
Lo took advantage of her modeling in Japan to attend Temple University where she earned a degree in mass communication. Even by combining her studies and her career, she managed to become one of the top models in Japan.
Before going to school, her stars had already soared as she appeared in magazines and dominated the catwalk. In addition, she worked as a television reporter for FOX TV Japan.
Parents and ethnicity
One of the known things about Lo is that she is very close to her parents. As previously reported, she was raised by her Taiwanese mother and adoptive Hong Kong father of Euro-Asian ethnicity.
When she was a child, she traveled a lot with her parents and sisters because her father was a music producer and his job required him to do so. They went wherever he had work to do in Asia. The family therefore lived in different places, including Japan, China and Hong Kong, before settling permanently in Taiwan.
Through the influence of her parents, she grew up a free spirit who wasn’t afraid to try different things, such as forming an all-female hip hop dancing troupe with her buddies, playing sports (badminton and basketball), and inline roller skating. It was after all this that she settled as a model.
Liv Lo and Henry Golding
Just as Liv and her husband are quite unique from most other couples, so is their love story. Before their paths crossed, Lo had a successful modeling career in Japan where she lived. However, after meeting him, her priorities changed and she moved to Singapore to be with her British and Malaysian boyfriend, Golding.
The first time the couple met was on New Year 2011 in Singapore while celebrating a mutual friend’s birthday at a restaurant. The actor caught the eyes of the lady who would later become his wife with his good height and good looks, complemented by his down-to-earth disposition.
Lo tried as much as possible to grab the attention of Golding who, although noticed, was not trying to introduce herself. Having failed to convince him to talk to her, she decided to take the first step when leaving. He turned around and told her that she was leaving and that he would never see her again. This is how their love story began.
Four years later, when they were in Phuket, Thailand, Henry Golding proposed to Lo and she accepted. In 2016, the couple became husband and wife in Malaysia. The ceremony took place in Golding’s hometown in Cove 55, Sarawak, in the presence of their families and close friends.
The couple now live in Singapore where Liv Lo works.
