House of Ho is back with season 2 and a new cast, Kim Ho and Bella Ho.
House of Ho is a reality television show on HBO Max. A Vietnamese American family in Houston is the center of the TV show, the new season released on August 25, 2022.
Washington charts his sober journey in the new season while reconsidering his professional life. At the same time, Judy enjoys being engaged to Nate Nguyen while she undergoes IVF to try to become pregnant.
The reality show is back almost after two years with more drama and emotional moments.
Who Is Kim Ho From House Of Ho?
Kim Ho is a 25-year-old aspiring dermatologist. She is Washington and Judy Ho’s cousin.
Kim feels the show is a blessing; she and her family can show the Asian-American dream or just a Vietnamese family. She explains that if people are feeling alone, they can also feel the same things. They experience the same problems individually or as a family but maybe with some luxury.
While she has been in the United States, she has learned the importance of honoring family sacrifices but, most importantly, living your dreams.
She got an opportunity to study in California against her parent’s wishes, it was the only thing Kim had done against her parent’s wishes, and she didn’t regret her decision.
Along the way, she learned to put herself first and her family happy and her mental health and well-being. She feels that Asian-American culture is unique as they have a space to be individualistic and have the privilege to care for our mental health while the parents were not given the luxury.

Kim Ho From House Of Ho’s Parents
Kim’s father, Tien Ho, is one of the 11 children in the family tree. Her parents are traditional. Her father is the family’s breadwinner, and her mother is a homemaker. For a long time, her mother wanted Kim to have the same lifestyle and even trained her to be the perfect Vietnamese wife.
Her parents made sure that she was aware of all the Vietnamese customs and was able to cook and support the family. Kim’s mother didn’t attend any high school or college. She feels lucky that she was able to pursue an education.
But her parents wanted her to marry a rich man and skip her dream of college. Still, she is grateful for her parents’ sacrifice and support.
Recap Of House Of Ho Season 1
In the show’s first episode, Judy reveals she has filed for divorce at the Hos’ weekly post-church brunch, much to the dismay of her traditional Vietnamese parents, Hue and Binh. While everything is going on, Judy’s brother Washington and his wife Lesley deal with their marital problems.
Lesley tries to maintain order in the home, but with Judy and her children now occupying their space, Wash lives up to his reputation as a drinking, partying playboy. When Judy later tells Lesley what Hue thinks of her, she causes a family rift.
In the second episode, Judy’s growing frustration with the traditional gender norms imposed on her and Washington is unaffected by a private plane or some serious retail therapy. Washington reveals the secret motivation behind his marriage to Lesley to his cousin Sammy.
Further, in the season, Judy wants her father to treat her as an adult accepting her relationship with Dr. Nate. Lesley pleads with the Ho women for assistance in controlling her erratic husband, disclosing an embarrassing and shocking family secret.
The season ends with Judy inviting her parents to meet Nate, and Washington is shocked by the news disclosed by his father.
