David Allen Turpin and Louis Anna Turpin used to beat their children, tie them up in the bed with ropes, and only feed them one meal a day while eating fast food in front of them.
The kids had never been out of their homes before. They restricted their ability to communicate with the outside world.
When the police discovered the children, they assumed they were underage.
Seven of them, however, were over the age of 18. Their appearance of being young was due to their skinny bodies.
