Who Is Jordan Howard, The NFL Running Back? His height, weight, facts

Jordan Howard is from Alabama and plays professional football in the National Football League (NFL). He currently plays as a running back for the Chicago Bears, where he has served since the 2016 season after being draft picked in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. This means Jordan Howard was the tenth draft pick.

He has become an asset to the Bears, and this is reflected in his 2016 Pro Bowl selection as well as the Brian Piccolo Award he received in 2017 for personality and performance.

Who Is Jordan Howard, The NFL Running Back?

Jordan was born on November 2, 1994. Born in Gardendale, Alabama, the running back played high school football for his hometown high school, Gardendale High School. Jordan Howard was not a sought-after talent in high school for college football programs. He was rated fairly low as a two-star candidate based on his scouting and recruiting analysis. With such little consideration, he had to settle for his college education at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.

Howard made a much better impression on scouts and recruiters at school. Although he played for two different colleges, the University of Birmingham and Indiana University, his performances for both colleges were considered impressive enough to earn him a draft pick. At the UAB, he finished second in yards per carry in Conference USA after putting in impressive performances, such as 159 yards in a game. Howard finished his rookie season with 881 rushing yards. In his sophomore season, he went further and finished second in Conference USA with 1,587 yards.

Howard transferred to Indiana for the 2015 season after completing the UAB football program. In Indiana, he continued his upward trajectory, finishing the season with 1,213 yards and 9 touchdowns. In the 2015 season, he had a career-high 238 yards in a game against Michigan.

After three periods of study, Jordan declared himself qualified for the design. He was one of 24 running backs who received an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, an event where players are evaluated to improve their position in the draft. Howard was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He then signed a four-year, $2.58 million contract with a $248,022 signing bonus.

When Howard joined the Bears he was in contention for spots with Jeremy Langford, Jacquizz Rodgers and Ka’Deem Carey for the starting position. He started his professional career as a third running back for the Bears.

Howard made his professional debut against the Philadelphia Eagles in the second game of the season, returning three carries for 22 yards and two receptions for nine yards. Lucky from injury, Howard became the first running back for the Bears and put in a series of impressive performances. After his third game, he was named Offensive Player of the Week. By the end of the regular season, he became the fifth rookie in Bears history to post 1,000+ rushing yards. He was also one of two Bears rookie players picked into the 2017 Pro Bowl.

Despite a slow start to the 2017 season, Howard finished the season with 1,122 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns with 23 receptions for 125 receiving yards. Over the course of the season, he beat the Carolina Panthers for 167 yards.

Jordan Howard has continued the upward trend that characterized his collegiate career and turned himself into an efficient and productive runback. His NFL career currently stands at 2,613 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns and 62 receptions.
