Who is Jody Jenkins?
Jody Jenkins is an English composer born in Soho, London. He is the son of fellow composer Sir Karl Jenkins. Jody has worked in numerous films and TV shows over the years and has gained a growing popularity in the industry. Some of his notable works include Bumblebee, V for Vendetta, and many more as both composer and percussion programmer.
His early life:
Jody was born in Soho, London to fellow composer Karl Jenkins. He started studying music at Hampton school and later studied percussion and composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London, just like his father did. During his student years, one of his compositions was selected for a British gas TV commercials and after that he was recording in a professional studio in London. He has mentioned that it was an unbelievable achievement for him and he just wanted to grow from there. Later, he began writing for popular British TV shows and documentaries including Top Gear, and The Antiques Roadshow.
His work and recognition:
As years went by, Jody started working in films and orchestras. Some of his early work include composing for the Indian film Aladin and UK black-comedy Cockneys vs Zombies. He has taken on other roles than composing like percussionist and music programmer. His work with Academy Award winner Dario Marianelli on projects such as V for Vendetta and Atonement. Apart from cinema, Jody has composed music for business powerhouses like Samsung, BMW, McDonalds, British Gas etc. Jody was nominated for an Emmy Award in Outstanding Individual Achievement in a Craft: Music and Sound in 2009 for his work in the documentary: When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions.

Jody was born to fellow musicians Carol Barrat and Sir Karl Jenkins. Carol is also a composer/educationalist and author of Chester Piano Books while Karl is a well respected composer who has received various doctorates in Music and was knighted for ” his services to composing and crossing musical genres ” on June 12, 2015.
Jody is married to Rosie Jenkins who plays oboe in the London Symphony Orchestra. There are no published information on his children and he has not mentioned them in any of his sites or social media.
