Jessica Hudson, the director of the Fairfax County Library, has made headlines after creating a book showcase alongside the Bible that included the infamous books “Gender Queer” and “Lawn Boy.”
According to the parents, the video contains pedophilia and other inappropriate content. The display was later removed after residents complained that it was offensive.
Stacy Langton, a Fairfax County resident, said she plans a protest outside the library on Saturday.

Director Jessica said in a statement that the “holiday reading showcase was meant to highlight the freedom to read. As well as the fact that many librarians prefer to do so during the holidays.”
She added, “Staff did not intend to create a display that could be interpreted as offensive.”
Though the display was taken down on Tuesday, it’s unclear how long it had been up in the display. And people are speaking out against her unacceptable actions.
One tweet congratulated Jessica for reaching the new low level on society by displaying sexually explicit material and pedophilia alongside The Bible. And that she should resign immediately.

Following parent complaints, the county school system temporarily removed “Lawn Boy” and “Gender Queer” from school libraries earlier this year.
However, the books were reinstated following a review by a committee and administrators. They ascertained that the books were important in their ability to impact marginalized youth who may find it difficult to find relatable fictional characters that reflect their individual journeys.”
