On October 8, Friday, Maria Ambrocio was walking through Times Square with her friends after having lunch.
She was heading home when a man, now identified as Jermaine Foster, knocked her down while escaping the police.
Ms. Ambrocio fell hard and sustained serious head trauma. She was rushed to Bellevue where she was admitted in a critical condition before she succumbed to her injuries.
She passed away in the presence of her husband, friends, and family. Ambrocio was an oncology nurse and a former employee at Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan.
